mystique

  • noun The variety of atmosphere which addicts consider best for a fantasy-oriented MUA. It is characterised by a 'magical' feel, coupled with a carefully-crafted uncertainty about what could, might or will happen. Any mention of the real world is a Bad Thing, because it shatters the illusion. Role-playing (sense 3) is considered a Good Thing, but hard to enforce without turning everyone into plodders.
