on <shout>

  • exclamation A way to synchronise medders so they can med the iconner to the sancta. The <shout> will be something like 'scream' or 'yodel'; what the call means is that when the two medders waiting for the cue hear it, they should med. Usually (but not always), the iconner will be the one doing the <shout>. You often, therefore, hear things like:

A male voice in the distance shouts "on yodel".
A male voice in the distance yodels.

The first line tells the medders what the signal will be; the second is this signal to med. When players are attempting to med in secret (so as not to attract the attention of killers who may think it fun to steal their icons), the first line isn't always shouted (having been arranged already using direct communication). See sancta, hut.
