selective depth
- noun Of a MUA, having depth in some parts but not in
others (the implication being that selective depth is for show,
but that the MUA in question is basically shallow). A MUA would
exhibit selective depth if, for example, players could carry
objects but mobiles couldn't, or objects could be given to
players but not to mobiles. Selective depth usually arises as a
result of undergeneralisation in the design of a MUA, or when its
database is written by several people. See depth, breadth,
inconsistent, unrealistic.
